We’re going on a stash hunt…..

Ok so after the inspiration from Zoe from Pinsandneedles I’ve traveled through my stash…..

On the day I had a helper….

I’ve bagged it all into potential projects…. Lots of the yarn though was bought for projects for me which have as usual languished……like this beautiful Sweet Georgia DK which is for a top for me…. No pattern as yet…. I think I was going to make one up

We have a few potential hats….

A sweater for William….

Some more hats….

A Baable for me….

A hat and some socks for James….

Heaps of socks for me and a Sockhead hat!, William will of course get socks from the spares!!!

A shawl for me…

And heaps more some already with patterns, some mitts, some more hats, a closer look at some gorgeous skeins…. Phew it’s gonna be a busy year!!!

Some of the stash I have chosen to ignore for now…..

Then my helper wandered off…

So I didn’t manage to start the fabric…..

It’s slowly becoming a home!!!

Last weekend Mum and Dad hired a van loaded up the bed frame Dad made from the old barn beams, a chair mum had recovered and some other bits and headed down to Wales!!!! We then loaded an absolute heap of furnishings at our current home, before heading on down to West Wales!!! The weekend was spent sorting, building unpacking loading cleaning and generally starting to build a home!!!

Saturday morning was a very frosty start!!

But Dad and James worked hard Friday night and got our new bed built!!! Dad has performed an amazing feat planing sanding polishing etc and making a wonderful bed frame from the old roofing beams from the barn!

Cheeky chops for scale!!!

We have clothes storage!!!

William enjoyed playing on the carpet and started off on the blue cushion!!!

Grandma and I got his mural done!!!! I love it but I’m fairly sure that I’ll find the wall stickers on the floor when we are next there so I’m going armed with extra sticky stuff!!

The chair mum rescued and had reupholstered!!!! It’s amazing the transformation and soooo comfy!!

Williams room is taking shape with the sofa bed now a sofa again and a desk and drawers in there

Paint splats on the tiles were carefully removed before furniture put in the kitchen!!!! Te he!!!! Bottoms up!!!

We officially have a spare room!!! One chair bed and a double with some old tables as temporary sidetables!!

We are so fancy now even our bathrooms have doors!!!!

And our kitchen is finally becoming a kitchen!!!

With a kitchen door and all!! Still lots to do and clear up but…. It’s starting to resemble a home. We have come such a long way from the shell we started with!!!

House Reno update!!!

Ok!!!!! Soooooo since the carpeting we have been painting downstairs!!! James has been an absolute Trojan of painting these past few weeks and I have been cutting in all the edges!!

We have finished painting the downstairs loo….

We have finished painting the kitchen….

James and his dad have also started to hang doors!!!! The downstairs loo has a door!!!!!! No more singing!!! We so fancy!!!!

The lounge and utility have had a first coat….

The fridge and freezer have been delivered….. Though bizarrely neither of us photographed em….

Oh well next time!!!!

In the meantime here’s cheeky chops!!

Yes trousers are on his head…. daddy didn’t want to wrestle him back into them just before his dinner then bathtime!!!!

A Full farm update….

i.e. since William was born!!!!

We have been busy bees, painting, architraves, skirting….

James’ parents have been amazing and have done soooooo much painting and James and his Dad have done all the woodwork upstairs!!! Its nearly at the point of having carpets put in upstairs and painting started downstairs!!!!

So in Photo Format!!!

Phew thats a lot of photos!!

One last one!!

So we have teal flowers for the master bedrom, purple plain and purple and pink flowers for the lounge, animals for Cheeky Chops’ room!!

We don’t need a Ramped access!!!!!!

Hurrah, Building control said we dont need to make a huge unsightly front door ramped access we can have an access via the barn!!!!  Building control also said he needs the commissionings for the heating, electrics and plumbing, he needs to see stairs with all the guard rails in and steps front and side appropriately guarded oh and all the building work finished off, e.g. all the boarding and skimming done!!  But yay no ramp no ramp no ramp!!!!

So last week James, His Parents and myself went down to B and Q in Carmarthen and got a set of steps for the patio doors!!!!

James and his Dad then proceeded to build the steps and some handrails for them!!!

They are Fabulous!!!!!!! And its so nice not to have a huge drop from the patio doors any more!!  Thank You Julia and Geoff!!!!

James and I have painted them, but unfortunately before it dried we had a sudden deluge of rain and its a bit mottled…. so we will have to take another photo once we have given them another coat!!
